Emerging Markets: Supply Chains & Global Trade

Emerging markets are primed for global trade. With steadily growing populations, middle-class communities in multiple countries on the rise and more flexible currency regimes, these factors and more mean emerging markets are “primed for globalization”. In short, there is willingness for increased trade among developing economies despite ongoing protectionist rhetoric from US president Donald Trump and a handful of others. In partnership with Standard Chartered’s Global Research team, we take a brief look at protectionist history and why supply chains bode well for global trade.
