Dr. Benn Steil, senior fellow and director of international economics at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, has along with his colleague and CFR analyst Emma Smith created a new, interactive Global Monetary Policy Tracker. The new web-based tool, Steill says, is aimed at helping to track and dissect monetary policy around the world.
A color-coded map will allow users to learn who may be tightening policy, loosening policy and even view U.S. rate expectations. The new tracker will offer a view of additional monetary policies around the world through its innovative “Index of Global Tightening or Easing.”
The new monetary tracker is the second tool from Dr. Steill. He last year created the Central bank Currency Swaps Interactive with former CFR analyst Dinah Walker.
